The wait is over

As what my friend had said ūüôā

I ran..

18 09 2008

For the first time since before the time of ages.

While I thought of her.

To the tunes of Madonna, Fall Out Boy, Fergie, Usher and ‘Jackie Moon’.

For a grand total of 16 minutes and 25 seconds before calling it quits.

But¬†I’m still perspiring even though I’m done bathing.

And I intend to keep running again on a daily basis.

High and Dry

Indeed bro.

Here’s to you.

A toast.

Tom Ton

12 09 2008

Welcome to the house for black pigs, or should I say Berkshire. Headed down to the Central Mall for tempura only to end up giving this japanese restaurant a try.

Haven’t been to a specialty restaurant for some time and the missus gave up hunting for tempura (she hates buta by the way) and head straight into there without evening thinking..ZZzzz..

The menus was rather fancy, one (the blue coloured) being their new creations / alcoholic beverages and the usual menu on the left. Hot ocha (lightly taste) was served in a rather unique cup/glass that you would normally see in a chinese martial arts period drama/movie.

One look into the main menu and you’re being introduced to what you¬†could be eating.

Winter menlon honey juice was erm..Not really what we had in mind, perhaps other people might enjoy it.

And the ume didn’t come along with the umeshu that we ordered, an additional sgd$3 is required if you wish to have ume in your umeshu (which didn’t make sense)

For starters, we ordered salmon sashimi and potato salad, both which tasted great in our opinon, especially the salmon.

Next up was their new dish from the little blue book – Uni chawan mushi, the serving was rather small for the price (sgd$10) but you’ll probably feel like you’re in heaven after tasting the uni. The prawn bits and mushroom bits were just as fresh.

Then came our 1st main dish – Tom Ton mix (duh, that’s probably the reason why we’re suposed to be there) An assorted flavour of different¬†tonkatsu portions, ebi and zakana served with self-grinded sesame seeds + tonkatsu sauce and mayonnaise (for the ebi and zakana). But I must say, it is rather pricy (sgd$39.80), unless of course you don’t mind paying for quality food.

The tonkatsu was hhmm…By far the most tender pork that I’ve ever sank my mouth into before, the fatty bits tastes just as good. Thinking about it kinda makes me drool (yeah, literally). The ebi wasn’t really that good, they probably didn’t cooked it through for my liking. While the zakana was rather tasty, thumbs up for their fresh fishes.

Our final stop was the Kimchi Nabe (which we started tucking in without taking a picture beforhand), coupled with shabu glass noodle and a bowl of ultra tantalising rice.

This¬†isn’t meant for people with weak stomach for spicy food. Its a japanese-styled korean dish – spiced based soup with layers of fresh vegetables and pork slices. In case its too hot for you to handle (which happened in my case), you can always request their friendly servers to supply you with clear water to dilute it to your liking.

We were too full to try out their desert, hopefully they’re doing it right like their kuro buta.

Well, I had an overall pleasant dining experience at Tom Ton (I can’t say¬†the same¬†for her coz pork isn’t really her forte) and the servers were really helpful and friendly which really is a perk, since its a first time for us there and we were rather unsure of what’s hot and what’s not. Music was a mix of english hits (think class95), so its kinda refreshing as compared to other japanese restaurants (think backdated jpop). The ambiance is suited for a couple’s liking.¬† Its probably a place you might want to skip if there’s a group gathering due to its rather pricy menu, unless of couse, its something you might want to try for the sake of “freshness” in gathering venues.

And lastly, their black pig rocks.

Rating: (=^o^=)bbb1/2

My Happy Ending

7 09 2008

A month’s worth of wage for the best damn tour of ’08, could have gotten a better seat at a lower price if I was one of the early birds though (nope, I didn’t mean those lucky bs who snapped up the $78 seats and gotten a nice position upfront with me)

To be honest, I’m not exactly a fanatic fan of hers to begin with, though I must say I was quite hooked on her 1st single and a few other titles as well. So I was wondering if this was gonna be the best damn tour for me.

Concert time was stipulated at 8pm and I didn’t even take my dinner beforehand. Thus, I took the liberty to head over to the indoor stadium earlier for a quick bite. Even as I board the cab and explained¬†my situation to the driver, he mearly retorted that “based on my indoor exp, it would¬†only start at 9”, which I sincerely believed at that point of time, was plain bull.

But wait, it’s true it’s true.

That damn tour did begin around that timing. There was a filler act before the main attraction took to the stage. Sadly to say, I didn’t take any pictures of them, nor did I take the initiative to know which local band was opening the show for Avril. Whoever you guys are, and if you did manage to read this post, your music rocks, even though I find that the lead singer’s vocal cords are a tad monotonous for my liking and even though the crowd was a bit “blunt” in voicing out their opinons, just keep it up man..!!

Went to the merchandise corner to take a quick peek at the stuffs they had in stored for us, gotten a t-shirt that looked good (on guys and girls at the same time) and man, the goods were way overpriced – $40/shirt $15/flags $15/comics (on HER!!wtf!!) $10/pin badges etc..

Anyway, headed back to the seats and discovered that the¬†event hirers slipped a little nice “something” for the audience, neat.

Lanyard/Pass Holder

And then it begin – The best damn tour ’08

First of to kick start with, “Girlfriend”

And countless of hits.

That girl’s a real multi talented b incase you think the vocals department was her only forte.

She did the guitars, can’t remember which title though.

There goes the piano, “When You’re Gone”

A short mtv was displayed as though it was an intermission, for her to change into her 2nd outfit I suppose.

And the drums, “Runaway”

Seriously, I think she’s such a cock..I mean crowd tease. Well, she practically controlled the audience like she had a remote devise like Adam Sandler in Click. “Tuning” up the “volume” of the screaming voices of her fans (I’m assuming¬†that <90% of them falls under that) for “Everything Back But You”

Her 3rd and final outfit was for the encore which she kept it short and sweet, “Sk8er Boi” .

Picture taken by tortoise18

By then my 6500 slide¬†had already¬†died on me, leaving me without¬†a choice but to forgo that final outfit and just get other patrons to take just a picture of the new backdrop for the encore –¬†a gigantic version of that tattoo of hers on the inside of her left wrist.

Well, it ain’t the best damn tour of ’08 for me.

But it certainly is the best damn tour.

Bad debts: Prelude

7 09 2008

I do owe myself as well as the readers some form of explanation right? True, I’m not a regular blogger who updates their blog frequently or on a “fix time” basis, but I did promise us that I’ve a few articles to follow-up on.

Thus you’ll see a series of bad debts in-lieu, to both the readers and myself.

Afterall, one shan’t procrastinate no further.

Can’t I?

Bad Debts – Welcome to my room II

7 09 2008

“Taking a break from my job today. Lets see how much can be done in 2 hours.”

Well, I actually took more than that to clean up the freaking room, 10 months and 23 days to be more precise. Better than nothing right?

A really special thank-you note to bkf and that you-know-who-guy-in-the-pic (whom lost my handphone sock the very next day) for giving a helping finger/hand in aiding me to acomplish an almost impossible task (well, in an emotional sense).

Kinda makes me love my room even more.

Ahh ~orgasim expression~

No harm in frapping a’lit right?!!

Ahh Ahhh~~
